Esri Stands Ready to Help Communities with Disaster Mapping

Just give me a current situation map!

I've written many times about the power of a map in the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Any map is better than no map, but in today's electronic world, a digital map that can be quickly shared with others not present in your facility will do wonders for coordinating your activities and setting priorities — especially on a regional basis.

Esri, the computer mapping company used by many, if not most governments, stands ready to help in times of disasters. Any jurisdiction or agency can ask for help, see their website for doing so.

This is a terrific resource, available for the asking. Don't be ashamed to ask for help! They are already helping in a number of ways within the Hurricane Harvey disaster zone.
