We had always assumed that George Clooney was a laid-back kind of guy who just let people get on with things will he sipped tequila and played the occasional prank.

But no, the Hollywood actor is actually quite strict and created a list of RULES for his wedding guests over the weekend.

According to reports George and Amal asked those attending the big day at the The Aman Canal Grande Venice, which included A-listers Emily Blunt, Cindy Crawford and Matt Damon, to leave their phones in their rooms.

Instead TMZ reports that they were given a prepaid mobile with a code that also doubled up as their ticket to the ceremony.

On top of that they were also given a camera to capture the special moment.

But just in case any of the guests were planning on doing something naughty – like the sell the pictures on – all the cameras have codes which mean they can be traced.

Apparently George told everyone the extra security was because of all the recent picture hacking going on. Hmmm.

It wasn’t all rules though, the couple also gave a letter to their family and friends ahead of the big day revealing the itinerary as well as handing out an iPod.

We’re used to weddings where we’re happy with sugared almonds, but George and Amal dished out an iPod with their favourite tunes on to enjoy, as well as a speaker so they can take the party to their rooms.

We reckon that sweetens the no phone rule, don’t you?
