Valley Metro continues to receive recognition for its leadership in the transit industry as it grows to connect more communities and people to opportunities. Valley Metro received three prestigious awards over the summer.

  • Esri, the worldwide leader in geographic information system software, named Valley Metro a 2017 Special Achievement in GIS award winner. The award recognizes the Valley Metro Ridership Data Portal for its outstanding GIS technology. The data portal provides access to customized transit ridership reports and serves as a model for the industry. Click here to view to Valley Metro Ridership Data Portal.
  • The Northwest light rail extension is the recipient of the 2017 Public Works Project of the Year in transportation by the American Public Works Association, Arizona Chapter. The extension opened in March 2016 connecting riders to businesses and residences along 19NORTH. 
  • Valley Metro received the South West Transit Association Spotlight award for its fun and clever way of educating riders on alternative modes of transportation. The Change Your Game Plan campaign uses board games and testimonials from Valley commuters to showcase the benefits of using alternative modes of transportation, such as carpool and telecommuting.
