Redlands geographic information systems company Esri has made a list of top 25 cloud computing companies by PwC, a global professional services company.

Cloud computing, using a network of servers to manage data, is “climate change” in the tech industry, according to PwC.

“What were once clouds on the horizon – pardon the expression – are now hovering above, affecting the climate of every software company,” the introduction reads.

Canadian information management company OpenText topped the list. Esri came in at No. 22.

Esri is also No. 48 on PwC’s list of top 100 global software leaders. It is one of six companies in the top 50 to also make the cloud list.
