In our 2016 Holiday Card, we had a series of teasers for the electric utility industry. If you missed the card you can review it here, and if you missed the teasers you can blame it on the holiday dinner food coma!

Today, June 15, 2017, the entire DataCapable team is wicked excited to announce the availability of one of those teasers. The "Global Outage Tracker Powered by Machine Learning". You can read the full press release here.

For those of you that know me, interoperability and data visibility of outage data have been a longstanding goal. I'm super excited to see what creative developers across the World will accomplish with the availability of this layer. I'm also incredibly thankful for the team at Esri for embracing interoperability.

To these points, if any of you are so inclined to provide some comments below on what you'll accomplish with this outage data, DataCapable will select that top 3 and provide this layer to you for free for the next year. That's $900 for your business or utility.

Ohh, and for those of you wondering about those other teasers...calm down, it's only July! There's plenty more to come...
