ORLANDO, Fla. - Sept. 14, 2016 - PRLog -- With the growing number of extreme weather events, natural disasters and geopolitical risks, the need for reliable data to assess sites for potential risks is increasing in the global economy. The German Geo IT specialists, con terra, now offer an app that allows companies to examine their locations in relation to these geohazard risks. The company will present the new application called Geo Risk Analyzer at the 2016 Supply Chain Exchange, which is held in conjunction with the CSCMP 2016 Annual Conference (https://cscmp.org/), from September 25th to 28th in Orlando, Florida.

Flood, hailstorms, tornados, earthquakes or tsunamis - Are there any risks near my locations that I should be aware of?

"This is an important question in scenarios like insurance underwriting, industry planning, supply chain management or mineral resourcing," said Markus Wissing from con terra. The IT-Manager is responsible for the new Geo Risk Analyzer. The geo expert added that the new offering is intended to give companies better planning security, so that they can feel secure in their investment decisions.

But it's not only large, globally acting companies that are addressed. Users like consultants and real estate managers from small companies can also benefit from the new offer by analyzing the risk situation of specific locations for different purposes.

With the leading global reinsurer SwissRe and CONIAS Risk Intelligence, con terra found two renowned partners for collaboration. "The Geo Risk Analyzer gives access to the high-quality and high-resolution hazard maps from SwissRe and CONIAS. Valuable data that we have developed for a wide range of users, with a global coverage, combined in a holistic and easy-to-use workflow," said Markus Wissing.

The results the user receives is a location accurate risk assessment of individual sites, output as PDF Reports or enriched tabular data (CSV).

The app is completely web based and available as software-as-a-service in the ArcGIS Marketplace, a platform for geospatial apps and data run by Esri, the leading GIS company worldwide.
