Real-time interactive map of every fire in America

Currently, 97 active wildfires are burning in America and you can see them all in this interactive real-time story map.

Categorized by both magnitude and date of each fire, Esri’s mapping software is the most powerful technology available. If you hover over each area, you’ll learn the name of every fire wildfire in the country, including the number of acres burned and percentage of containment.

The states affected include Washington, California, Montana, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, and Alaska.

Top five largest fires as of 4 p.m. Friday Aug. 10:

1.Ranch fire, California – estimated at 258,527 acres and is 53 percent contained.

2.Carr fire, California – estimated at 181,496 acres and is 51 percent contained.

3.Goose Creek fire, Nevada– estimated at 132,220 acres and is 97 percent contained.

4.Spring Creek fire, Colorado – estimated at 108,045 and is 91 percent contained.

5.Ferguson fire, California – estimated at 95,544 acres and is 80 percent contained.

The Geospatial Multi-Agency Coordination, based out of Colorado, provided the locations and perimeters of each fire as a way for fire personnel to pinpoint the affected areas easily and for communities to be made aware.
