Esri Deploys Software With US Navy

Redlands-based geographical information systems software developer Esri announced a deployment with the U.S. Navy last week, saying that its technology is being used by the US Navy for its unmanned vehicle systems. According to Esri, its ArcGIS tools are being used by the Navy to collect sensor data from its maritime remote vehicles, letting the Navy analyze data from the ocean such as water temperature, humidity, wind speed, and topography, in near real time. Esri said its systems were being demonstrated last week by the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (NMOC) at an "Unmanned System Operational Demonstration" off the coast fo Gulfport, Mississippi.
